What’s OPEN and What’s not?

We’ve put together a quick reference guide for all our library lovers out there!

Concord & Five Dock Libraries

The libraries are OPEN with reduced hours and at reduced capacity of 90 people. The Learning Space at Rhodes is also open with a capacity limit  of 40. The collection can be browsed (except for newspapers) and study areas can be used.

All children’s programs are currently suspended however a Facebook Live Storytime session is available on Tuesday mornings at 10am.

 

Burwood Library

Burwood Library is CLOSED until further notice but is undergoing an exciting transformation and will be better than ever! As a result, no library programs are running at the moment.

 

Campsie & Earlwood Libraries

These libraries are OPEN with restricted hours, numbers are limited in accordance to the 4sqm rule. From 27th July, the library collection is available for browsing through but physical newspapers will not be available. A Click & Collect service is also available. More info.

Homework Help commences on Monday 3rd August and  operates during school terms, for times check the website. Baby Rhymetime, Preschool Storytime and activities for school aged children are available online.

 

Inner West Council Libraries

Ashfield, Balmain, Leichhardt and Marrickville libraries are OPEN with numbers limited depending on the size of the library.

Monday to Thursday, 9am to 7.30pm
Friday, 9am to 5.30pm
Saturday to Sunday, 10am to 5pm. Tuesday and Thursday mornings, 9am-10am, will be limited to vulnerable community members only

Haberfield and St Peters libraries are currently closed for refurbishment. Emmanuel Tsardoulias Community library at Dulwich Hill and Stanmore library remain closed due to limited capacity.

No group activities are running however online programs have been developed. Storytime for 3-5 year olds and Book Buddies for the the 0-2 year olds are available on Facebook Live.

 

Strathfield Library

Strathfield Library is OPEN with reduced hours. The new library and innovation hub is a fresh and modern space including exhibition space, multi-purpose space, internal study stadium and learning lab.

Study spaces can be booked on eventbrite. There are no group activities running at the moment but they have an online storytime session available.

 

All libraries that are open have many COVIDsafe procedures in place to keep everyone safe. These include:

  • Practising physical distancing  at all times
  • Library books will be quarantined between borrowings
  • Enhanced cleaning procedures are in place
  • Hand sanitising stations will be available at various points
  • Cashless transactions only
