Petty Cash Cafe, Marrickville

Petty Cash Cafe serves breakfast and lunch or even brunch, and what a great meal it is too. They serve amazing coffee in a relaxed, comfortable environment – and they have picnic rugs if you’d like to eat across the street in Enmore Park! How cool is that!

We haven’t visited Petty Cash for a while so we thought we’d should pop by! As always, we weren’t disappointed – who could be with such tasty, homemade food, an awesome selection of drinks, all served in a cosy environment that makes you feel like you just popped into Nanna’s house for lunch. This popular Marrickville cafe has been described as “hip”, “cozy” and “retro” and it’s all of those things but importantly, it’s a comfortable place to bring your kids.

We decided on lunch and ordered the Steak Sandwich ($16.90) and the Lemony Lamburger ($16.90). There’s no specific kids menu but there’s heaps on the menu for kids. Our’s chose the very adventurous vegemite toast ($5.50). The meals were wonderful, served quickly, very tasty and fresh. Pretty much everything on this menu is homemade and it’s obvious.

They have an amazing selection of drinks to choose from, we liked the sound of the homemade lemonade ($10 for a jug), but if you’d prefer a Snickers Frappe or a Fruit Smoothie ($6.90) you’ll find them on this extensive drinks menu.

Kids are welcome here! Across the road from the playground at Enmore Park, Petty Cash Cafe makes a perfect lunch stop with the kids. Relax after a play, or grab a picnic rug and eat lunch in the park.
