Jump StART Youth Theatre – Would I lie to You? Performance Workshop Yr 7-9

Want to be a wiz at thinking on your feet and learn to free your imagination? This is a workshop inspired by the mother of improvisation theatre, Viola Spolin, and television game shows such as Would I Lie To You? and Thank God You’re Here. There will be no scripts, and no limits – anything and EVERYthing is possible in the land of improvisation. Together we will explore a host of theatre sport games and activities, and perfect the art of the unprepared.

 

SKILLS YOU’LL DEVELOP

  • Improvisation and embracing spontaneity
  • Knowledge of theatre practitioner Viola Spolin
  • Removing creative blockages
  • Heightening sensitivity
  • Strengthening group and interpersonal communication skills

Artistic Director Lucy Clements and Performer Emma Wright bring a wealth of experience, working at the highest levels of Australian youth arts and professional theatre, and are passionate about bringing their extensive skill sets to the classroom.

These holidays Jump StART is going online AND in person to bring together students in years K-12 to create and collaborate in a shared space. With options from the pirate ship to the audition room, these workshops are designed to test young actors of all ages and experience levels. Join us from the 28th Sept – 9th Oct for seven sessions packed with fun and challenge!
