Espresso Organica, Concord

This Concord cafe is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner or just a coffee or something a bit stronger perhaps because they’re licensed too! Espresso Organica is large, it’s recently been extended to provide what could be a great spot for a function.

The menu is extensive with the cafe serving all your favourites for breakfast including an omelettes menu and a light breakfast menu. Breakfast is served all day until 5pm.

The lunch & dinner menu is available from 11am and there’s a lot to choose from. There is pizza, pasta, burgers, wraps, salads and steaks. The menu leans towards Greek and includes all your favourites like chicken, lamb or pork souvlaki and a char-grilled meats platter.

There’s a small but perfectly suitable kids menu which also includes an ice-cream for $14.50. Online bookings are available, they also supply catering and can hold your next function on their premises. The motto of this kitchen is “Life is too short for bad food” and for the most part they proved it!

We popped in as a group of 9 for lunch on a Sunday and had a fab time and enjoyed some great food! We eventually made some menu decisions, it took some time as the menu is huge and given that it was lunch you can choose from the breakfast menu also! We ended up with bits from everywhere, some of us chose breakfast, some lunch and of course the Kids menu got a workout too!

The absolute winner for us was the Greek Mezze Platter ($23), the pita bread was warm and to-die-for, the dips were so tasty and the selection of cured meats and pickled veg that came with it were wonderful! The pizza also rated a big thumbs up (and there’s a great pizza menu to choose from too). The Penne Boscaiola was delicious, creamy goodness ($23)!

Those of us who ordered from the breakfast menu had a mixed bag, the Baked Eggs Cayana had a wonderful flavour ($20) and came with some of the yumiest bacon we’ve had in a while but unfortunately the eggs seemed a bit over-cooked which left them more watery than creamy. It was a disappointment. The Eggs Benedict ($14) however was great value and absolutely wonderful.

The Kids Menu has only a few items but they include a Burger, Fish & Chips, Pizza and Pasta. They are $14.50 and comes with an ice-cream. A word of warning for those with fussy eaters… the burgers are on a brioche bun, we had a few turned up noses at that so the bun wasn’t popular but the rest certainly was!

We had a really enjoyable meal and it’s always so nice to get the family together all at the one table, we were there on a Sunday and they have some live music playing. The atmosphere was great and the cafe was really comfortable but the music was a bit loud which made catching up with each other a bit hard at times! Overall though we enjoyed it and we would come back for sure!
