Life with kids in Sydney's Inner West
Life with kids in Sydney's Inner West

Dean Reserve, Strathfield

A wonderful, innovative playground designed for the 6-12 year old age group but really has so much to offer for everyone in the family!

This park is interesting!  It’s designed for the 6-12 year old age group and it certainly provides some high flying entertainment for them.  The flying fox is huge and a big hit!  There is also a massive rope climbing structure that must be 30 feet in the air.  The BMX track is pretty cool and in addition to lots of space for general bike riding shenanigans there is a 3 station BMX activity circuit that involves balancing and an obstacle course for them on their bike!

The little ones aren’t left out though.  There are 4 swings, one with the baby seat.  There’s also a little suspended swinging ride-on that the little ones will enjoy.

The park is lovely and landscaped with an amazing array of native plants.  It’s on the banks of the Cooks River and there is access to the Bay to Bay bike track also.  It’s set in a quiet residential area and has a small car park at the entrance to make life really easy for those in a car.

There is an excellent shaded picnic area with BBQ and tables which would be perfect for a kids party or family gathering.

There are toilet facilities but no change tables.
